Badminton Rules

🏆 How to Win

  • Games go to 21 points (rally scoring).

  • You must win by 2 points, unless the score reaches 30 — then, the first to 30 wins!

  • A point is scored after every rally, no matter who served.

🌿 Where to Serve From

  • Even score: Serve from the right side.

  • Odd score: Serve from the left side.

  • Always serve diagonally across to your opponent's service box.

🚀 How to Serve

  • Serve underhand, and the shuttle must be hit below your waist (lowest rib).

  • Racket must point downward at contact.

  • You must be stationary inside your service box during the serve.

  • Serve must be done in one continuous forward motion.

❌ Faults (Opponent Gets the Point)

  • Shuttle lands outside the boundary lines.

  • Serve lands into or inside the front service line ("kitchen").

  • Serving from the wrong side or stepping on lines.

  • Touching the net with your body or racket.

  • Hitting the shuttle twice on the same side.

  • Missing the shuttle on a serve attempt.

  • Hitting ceiling or obstructions.

🛃 Where to Stand

  • Singles: Use the narrow court (sidelines are out).

  • Doubles: Use the wide court (sidelines are in).

↺ Switching Sides

  • Switch court sides after each game.

  • In a 3rd game, switch sides when one player/team reaches 11 points.

🧡 Be a Good Sport

  • Say "Good game!" and tap rackets after each match.

  • If there’s a close call, just replay the point.

  • Keep it fun, respectful, and fair for everyone!
